The application of make-up is a skill that women are expected to possess, and yet one in which we very rarely receive any formal training. We learn through trial and error - often an expensive path in a world where products are marketed on the basis of brand - not their suitability to different skin tones or bone structures. The secret of a beautiful face isn't an expensively assembled make-up bag or complicated application techniques - it's about using the right products in the right places to bring your natural beauty to the fore.
My make-up lessons are designed to help strip away the mystery of make-up, and help to find the small number of products and the simple application techniques that are right for you as an individual. I am not tied to using one brand and try to select the best products (certainly not the most expensive!) from a wide range of brands from Rimmel, Maybelline, Bourjois, Boots, Benefit, Barry M, Smashbox, Senna, NARS, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, MAC, Urban Decay, Becca to Illamasque, Christian Dior, Estee Lauder, Chanel among many others.
Make-Up Lesson Approach
A make-up lesson is unique as it is tailored specifically for you, your face, eye shape and colouring. My make-up lessons involve:
- Step by step tuition telling you exactly what you need and want to know, what works for you and what colours you would suit
- Tuition via a "half face" technique allowing you to build confidence by practicing new techniques throughout the make-up lesson
- Giving your make-up bag a de-clutter of unwanted products, and leaving it organised to make the most of the products you already have
- A write up of everything we've discussed that you can take away with you
Above all, the make-up lesson is designed to give you skills that will suit your lifestyle, and that are practical enough to have a positive impact on your everyday life. A typical make-up lesson will last almost 2 hours and costs £75.
PLEASE NOTE: Catherine's makeup lessons are not open to anyone in the beauty or makeup industry
