This morning I did make-up for three lovely beauticians for a photo shoot Nigel was doing for their beautician business. I will blog separaLtely the photos and full make-up descriptions, probably next week. The theme was vintage tea party and was really beautiful as well as a little quirky and slightly zany. The photos look brilliant!

I’ve decided to do a very quick blog about a pair of false lashes I used for the first time on one of the girls this morning . I LOVE them and had to share this lashes find :) . I know, even when I’m buying lashes, it’s a bit of a minefield and sometimes difficult to know how lashes will actually look on as to how they look in the box! Amazingly I haven’t used these lashes before but I just love their spiky look as well as the almost “innocent” eye look they give. And they are also good heavy lashes close to the lash line to add glamour.

They are by Eylure  and their full title is Naturalites Evening Wear (120s).

Here is a photo of Danielle wearing them. Fantastic! I’ve also used another of my favourite products “Lady Danger’” lipstick by Mac. It is a bit more of an orange red in reality but the editing here makes it look deeper. Incidentally, I really think Danielle looks like a young Elizabeth Taylor, beautiful.

Today I did make-up for the lovely Shaunagh who was having a “Lashes and Flashes” makeover. Shaunagh first had her hair styled by Bridget of David Graham Hairdressing and then over to me in the studio for all things make-up (the best bit!!)

For Shaunagh’s make-up we decided to go for a dramatic eye, with strong brows and great cheeks. For the eye make-up I used NARS Eurydice (the purple section, it looks a bit more pink than purple here in this photo) all over the lid and smoked into the socket with “Carbon” black shadow from MAC.

I used Bobbi Brown’s black gel liner on the lash line and black pencil eyeliner (“Black Ink”) by GOSH in the bottom waterline and smudged under too. I finished the eyes with a set of false lashes (117s) from Ardell (Gordons Chemists are great for false eyelashes, probably still the cheapest by far).

On Shaunagh’s cheeks I used a cream blusher by Illamasqua (“Dixie”), contouring cream in “Frangipani” by Becca, loose powder all over the face and and then finished with Dollymix powder blush by MAC and contouring powder by Stila. I added a powder highlighter on top of the cheekbones to really accentuate Shaunagh’s great cheeks :)

For Shaunagh’s lips I mixed a few lip colours to attain a pinky coral colour (I can’t remember which ones, sorry!)

The Boudoir in the Linen Green held a charity fashion show on Friday night and I was asked to do the make-up for the ten models. It is always a daunting task the thought of so many models to have looking runway perfect but it’s a case of just keeping “painting” as Nigel says!

So all of Friday afternoon was spent in the studio doing the model’s make-up inbetween them having their hair done. I adore doing catwalk make-up as it is what I initially trained in (fashion and photographic) and needs to be that bit more intense due to the lighting and the distance away from the audience. It also has to compliment the clothes and not distract from them. After talking to Anita and Donna (who organised the fashion show) we decided not to go for anything too weird or wacky but to keep the models looking beautiful and elegant.

I did a strong eye make-up, lots of contouring on the cheeks and alternated between a strong purple lip and a red lip which worked well with the collection of clothes. All photography by Nigel Fleming Photography

A very quick blog entry and photo of makeup I did today for Bobbi-lee who is currently building her modelling portfolio. For the photos we went out on location to the Brantry Lough, what a great autumn location. Bobbi-lee could just be the next top model ….she’s definitely got something. More photos and make-up info to follow.

This is my last “Saturday Slap” blog as the competition ends tomorrow and we will have a brand new, much better (hopefully!?) name.  So please, if you haven’t already done so, get your suggestions to me for a new name for my round up of girls having their make-up done for going somewhere special. The best suggestion will win a free make-up application and photo :)

Here are some of the girls I did make-up for over a week ago now (apologies for being way behind with my blogging as it’s just been manic the last couple of weeks).

Anita and her sister Donna were going to the Down Royal races last Saturday and this is with hair and make-up done and before their stunning hats !

I also did Donna’s make-up earlier in the week for her graduation in Dublin (I definitely think she added more blusher :) :) ), but I knew she would!

Nicola was going to a formal on Saturday night and had her make-up done for going…

Stephanie was going out on Saturday night and I did Stephanie’s make-up again this week as she was one of the 10 models I did make-up for for The Boudoir’s fashion show on Friday evening (lots of photos of this to follow)

Sarah-Jane was going out with her girlie friends on Saturday night and had her make-up done for it, gorgeous…
